About Meall Copagach
Rising above the remote waters of Loch Loch, this rounded Grampian height sits in the shadow of the Beinn a’ Ghlò massif. It offers a quieter, pathless alternative to the neighbouring Munros, with the heathery ascent rewarded by an intimate perspective of the steep eastern crags of Càrn nan Gabhar.

Did You Know?
- •Derived from the Gaelic for 'docken-clad rounded hill', Meall Copagach likely takes its name from the abundance of common dock or sorrel plants found in the greener flushes across its lower slopes.
- •The hill stands as a silent sentry over Loch Loch, a narrow and dramatic ribbon of water tucked into the deep trench between the Forest of Atholl and the Forest of Mhuirich.
- •From the summit, you gain an uncommonly clear view across to the grey scree slopes and complex eastern corries of Càrn nan Gabhar, which looks far more imposing from here than from its own standard approach.
- •As it falls just 30 metres short of Corbett status, the hill serves as an excellent filter for walkers who value a quiet map-and-compass exercise over following a well-worn bagger's trail.
