Frequently asked

What is TrailTrack?

TrailTrack is a personal journal for the fells, mountains and hills of the UK and Ireland. It lets you plan routes, record your adventures with GPS, track the summits you have climbed across dozens of hill lists, check mountain weather, and share adventures with a community of hill goers.

Which areas does TrailTrack cover?

TrailTrack covers the whole of the UK and Ireland, including the Lake District, Scotland, Wales, the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales, Dartmoor and Exmoor, Northumberland, the North Pennines, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland.

What are the Wainwrights, Munros and other hill lists?

These are classic hill classifications that walkers aim to complete. The Wainwrights are the 214 Lake District fells described by Alfred Wainwright; the Munros are Scottish mountains over 3,000 feet; and there are dozens more such as Corbetts, Grahams, Nuttalls and Marilyns. TrailTrack tracks your progress across all of them.

Can I import routes from GPX files or Strava?

Yes. You can import GPX files and sync activities from Strava, as well as draw and plan new routes directly on the map. Planned and completed walks are kept together so you always have your full history in one place.
