About Meall Garbh
Tucked deep within the remote glens between Glen Etive and Loch Awe, this rugged Graham offers a quieter alternative to the nearby Munros. Often approached via the long track through Glen Kinglass, its rocky, heathery slopes provide a sense of true isolation and commanding views toward the massive Cruachan range.

Did You Know?
- •The name Meall Garbh is Gaelic for 'Rough Hill,' a descriptive term for a rounded peak where the terrain is broken by rocky outcrops and boulders rather than being a smooth, grassy dome.
- •Its position makes it a lonely neighbour to the Munro Beinn nan Aighenan; walkers often combine the two by dropping into the deep col at the head of the River Kinglass.
- •The summit provides an excellent vantage point to view the massive granite slabs of Beinn Trilleachan and the long, tidal reach of Loch Etive to the west.
- •As a Marilyn with over 300 metres of prominence, it requires a significant physical effort to reach from any direction, which generally ensures you will have the summit to yourself.
