Cnoc Meadhon

A modest Dodd standing above the River Isla valley in Perthshire, close to the Highland Boundary Fault. The hill rises from agricultural land east of Glen Shee, offering a straightforward ascent through mixed forestry and moorland. At 516 metres, it provides a useful vantage point over the middle reaches of Strathmore and the rolling Angus hills beyond.

• •The name Cnoc Meadhon derives from Scottish Gaelic, meaning 'middle hill' or 'middle knoll', likely referring to its position between higher ground to the west and the lower farmland of Strathmore stretching eastward.
• •The hill sits close to the Highland Boundary Fault, the major geological division that separates the Highlands from the Lowlands, making it one of the southernmost hills to exhibit distinctly Highland character in its northern slopes.
• •Its eastern slopes drain into the River Isla, which flows through one of Angus's most fertile straths before joining the Tay near Coupar Angus.
