Lamh Dhearg

Rising to 575 metres in the Central Highlands, this Dodd and Tump occupies terrain north of Glen Artney. The summit offers a relatively quiet corner of the region, with heather moorland and grassy slopes characterising the approach. Its modest profile belies the effort required to reach the cairn from any direction.

• •The name Lamh Dhearg derives from Scottish Gaelic, translating as 'red hand' or 'red arm', likely referring to a distinctive reddish colouration in the local rock, soil, or vegetation visible on the hillside.
• •Despite its modest height just below 600 metres, the hill's Dodd classification places it among Scotland's hills with at least 15 metres of prominence, distinguishing it from mere subsidiary tops.
• •The hill stands in relative isolation north of Glen Artney, making it less frequently visited than the higher Munros and Corbetts to the west, though this ensures solitude for those who do make the journey.
