• •Corcog marks the traditional starting point for the Maumturks Challenge, a notoriously demanding ridge walk. Those tackling the peak from the south at Lackavrea face a relentless climb through thick heather and scree that serves as a stern introduction to the range's character.
• •The summit offers a clear sightline of the Maumahoge Pass, a dramatic U-shaped glacial notch that carves through the range, with the neighbouring peak of Mullach Glas standing prominently on the opposite side of the gap.
