About Coumaraglin Mountain [Sliabh Chom Airglinn]
Rising as a peat-covered shoulder in the Monavullagh range, this Hewitt offers a wilder, quieter experience than the nearby Comeragh summits. The terrain is often saturated and trackless, demanding good navigation, but the rewards are expansive views across the Nire Valley towards the higher peaks of Knockanaffrin and Fauscoum.

Did You Know?
- •Derived from the Irish Sliabh Chom Airglinn, the name refers to the mountain of the 'hollow of the little glen', describing the secluded valley carved into its northern slopes.
- •It serves as a vital link on the high-level ridge walk between Seefin to the south and the main Comeragh plateau, providing a less-trodden alternative to the popular Mahon Falls area.
- •Standing at 614.6 metres, it is one of the southernmost Hewitts in Ireland, marking the point where the rugged sandstone peaks of Waterford begin to subside toward the southern coast.
- •On a clear day, the summit offers a distinct perspective of the 'Gap' in the Knockmealdown Mountains to the west and the distant waters of Dungarvan Harbour to the south.
- •Navigation here is less about following a path and more about choosing which specific patch of moss looks the least likely to swallow your boot whole.
