Did You Know?
- •The name is derived from the Scottish Gaelic for 'peak of the grey corrie', a reference to the pale, rocky hollow of Coire Leith which drops away from the summit toward the north.
- •Positioned between the Munro summits of Meall Dearg and Sgòrr nam Fiannaidh, it is almost exclusively visited as part of the Aonach Eagach traverse, widely considered the most celebrated mainland ridge walk in the UK.
- •The summit provides a grandstand view of the 'Three Sisters' of Glen Coe across the glen, with the massive, complex north face of Bidean nam Bian appearing particularly imposing from this vantage point.
- •Looking west from the peak, the view opens up significantly, following the silver ribbon of Loch Leven as it stretches out toward the distant hills of Ardgour.
- •It is the traditional spot for walkers to finally regain their composure after completing the ridge’s more hair-raising sections, before facing the notoriously knee-crunching descent toward the Clachaig Inn.
