Aonach Eagach West Peak

Situated at the rugged western terminus of Glencoe’s most famous scrambling ridge, this rocky shoulder offers a momentary breather before the long descent. It commands a spectacular, airy perspective over the pointed Pap of Glencoe and the silver ribbon of Loch Leven stretching towards the hills of Ardgour.

• •The name Aonach Eagach translates from Scottish Gaelic as 'notched ridge', a literal description of the jagged, saw-toothed skyline that defines this part of the Glen Coe mountains.
• •This peak marks the final high point of the ridge for walkers heading west, standing as a sentinel between the technical pinnacles of the main traverse and the steep, grassy slopes above the village of Glencoe.
• •The summit provides an exceptional 'birds-eye' view of the Pap of Glencoe (Sgòrr na Cìche), which appears significantly lower and more accessible from this elevated northern angle.
