Meall Ghoirleig

Rising to 527 metres above Glen Dochart in the Southern Highlands, this grassy Dodd offers a straightforward ascent from the glen floor. The summit sits north of Loch Dochart, providing a modest vantage point over the upper reaches of the glen and the surrounding network of higher peaks to the north and east.

• •The name Meall Ghoirleig derives from Scottish Gaelic, with 'meall' meaning a rounded or lumpy hill, while 'ghoirleig' may relate to 'goirteag', meaning a small field or enclosure, suggesting the hill overlooks land once used for seasonal grazing.
