About Moel Feity
Situated in the quieter, western reaches of the Brecon Beacons, Moel Feity is a rounded, grassy dome offering solitude and expansive views of the Usk Reservoir. It is the sort of hill where you are far more likely to encounter a startled sheep than another human hiker.

Did You Know?
- •Moel Feity stands as the high ground overlooking the Glasfynydd Forest. This massive coniferous plantation straddles the historic border between the counties of Powys and Carmarthenshire.
- •Geologically, the fell is a key part of the Fforest Fawr UNESCO Global Geopark. It is composed of Old Red Sandstone that was sculpted by glacial activity during the last Ice Age.
- •The summit plateau offers a panoramic vantage point over the nearby Usk Reservoir. This body of water was constructed in the 1950s to supply resources to the industrial valleys of South Wales.
- •At 591 meters high, the fell is technically categorized as a 'Dewey'. It falls just nine meters short of the 600m mark required for full mountain status, much to the annoyance of completionists.
- •The ascent is essentially a high-stakes game of 'the ground is lava', except the lava is actually freezing peat bog. If you reach the top with dry socks, you have likely discovered a glitch in the simulation.
