Drosgol

Rising above the northern shores of the Nant-y-moch Reservoir, this rounded Marilyn offers a quieter perspective on the Pumlumon massif. Its slopes are characterized by classic Mid-Wales moorland—tussocky grass and seasonal bog—leading to a summit with clear lines of sight toward the sprawling heights of Pumlumon Fawr.

• •The name is likely a contraction of the Welsh 'tros' (over) and 'col' (a ridge or pass), describing its position relative to the ancient tracks that crossed this part of the Cambrian Mountains.
• •From the summit, the blue expanse of the Nant-y-moch Reservoir is clearly visible, providing a sharp contrast to the surrounding brown and purple hues of the Pumlumon range.
• •The view to the south-east is dominated by the Pumlumon massif, where you can easily pick out the distinctive peaks of Pumlumon Fawr and Pen y Gurnos.
• •As a Marilyn, Drosgol is defined by having at least 150 metres of prominence, a feature best appreciated during the steep, trackless ascent from the Camddwr valley to the west.
