About Croaghmeen [An Chruach Mhin]
Rising above the eastern side of the Barnesmore Gap in County Donegal, this rounded 401-metre summit offers a quiet alternative to the more rugged Bluestacks. Its heathery slopes provide a grandstand view over the N15 road winding towards Donegal Town, with the distinctive whaleback profile of Croaneirck clearly visible to the north.

Did You Know?
- •The Irish name An Chruach Mhín translates to 'the smooth stack', a fitting description for its relatively even, grassy slopes when compared to the jagged quartzite peaks found elsewhere in the county.
- •Positioned as a sentinel over the historic Barnesmore Gap, the summit looks directly across the pass to the higher, craggy silhouettes of Croaghconnellagh and Barnesmore.
- •Though technically a standalone Hump, it is often bagged alongside its neighbour Croaneirck as part of a horseshoe walk around the boggy upland plateaus east of the Gap.
- •It offers the unique satisfaction of watching the frantic pace of traffic on the primary road below from a height of 400 metres, safe in the knowledge that you are moving much slower but having a significantly better time.
