About Suidhe Fhearghas
Dominating the northern end of the 'Sleeping Warrior' profile, this rugged granite peak is typically climbed from the village of Sannox. The ascent is steep and pathless, eventually reaching a narrow, bouldery summit crest. The effort is rewarded with a clear view across the Firth of Clyde towards the Kyles of Bute.

Did You Know?
- •The name translates from Scottish Gaelic as 'the Seat of Fergus', likely referring to Fergus Mór Mac Eirc, a legendary 5th-century king of Dál Riata.
- •The hill forms the 'feet' of the Sleeping Warrior, a famous skyline silhouette seen by travelers on the ferries crossing from Ardrossan.
- •The summit provides an excellent vantage point for inspecting the formidable Ceum na Caillich (the Witches Step), a deep, jagged notch in the ridge leading toward the neighboring peak of Caisteal Abhail.
- •Looking south-west, the view is dominated by the spectacular granite tors of the Arran skyline, specifically the sharp pyramid of Cir Mhòr and the high plateau of the Goatfell range.
- •Despite its name suggesting a comfortable 'seat', the summit ridge consists of such an awkward jumble of granite boulders that you will struggle to find a flat place to actually sit down.
