About Sgurr na Feartaig North Top
Tucked between Glen Carron and the remote Loch Monar forest, this high Tump offers a rugged, pathless ascent. While often bypassed for the nearby Munros, its summit ridge provides an outstanding, unobstructed perspective of the jagged silhouettes of the Torridon hills and the massive bulk of Maol Chean-dearg to the west.

Did You Know?
- •The name is derived from the Gaelic 'Sgùrr na Feartaig', which translates as the 'Peak of the Virtues' or 'Qualities', likely referring to the value of the grazing land found on its lower slopes.
- •It is typically climbed from the west via the small settlement of Craig in Strathcarron, often as a precursor to the higher 863m main summit of Sgurr na Feartaig.
- •The summit serves as an excellent grandstand for viewing the remote 'Monar Munros', Lurg Mhòr and Bheinn Tarsuinn, which sit deep in the wilderness to the southeast.
- •Because it falls short of Corbett status by a significant margin, it sees a fraction of the footfall of its neighbours, making it a reliable choice for those seeking North West Highland solitude.
