About Sgor Eilde Beag
High in the eastern Mamores, this rocky Munro Top forms a sharp, graceful shoulder on the southern ridge of Binnein Mòr. While often overshadowed by its higher neighbours, it offers a dramatic sense of scale, overlooking the remote waters of Loch Eilde Mòr and the rugged screes of Sgor Eilde Mòr.

Did You Know?
- •The name is derived from the Gaelic 'Sgòr Eilde Beag', which translates as the 'Little Peak of the Hind'. It stands in contrast to its bulkier eastern neighbour, Sgor Eilde Mòr, the 'Big Peak of the Hind'.
- •Despite its height of over 950 metres, it is classified as a Munro Top rather than a full Munro because it is considered a subsidiary peak of Binnein Mòr, which sits just under a kilometre to the north.
- •The summit offers a peerless view of the steep, quartzite-shattered slopes of the Grey Corries to the northeast and a direct look down into the deep trough of Coire an Lochan.
- •The hill is a key navigation point for those completing the 'eastern Mamores' circuit, providing a steep but efficient bypass or approach to the highest ground in the range from Kinlochleven.
- •It is 'small' only by the standards of the Mamores; at 3,135 feet, it remains significantly higher than any mountain found in England or Wales.
