Did You Know?

  • The name is derived from the Scottish Gaelic Mullach Coire na Gaoitheag, which translates to the 'summit of the corrie of the little wind,' a reference to the gusty conditions often found funneling through the local topography.
  • It occupies a position on the high, heathery ridge extending from Sgùrr a' Choire Ghlais; most hillwalkers only see its slopes while completing the classic four-Munro circuit of the Strathfarrar Forest.
  • The summit offers a clear, lower-angle perspective of the massive southern face of Sgùrr na Muice and the winding, remote northern shore of Loch Monar.
  • As a Tump located within the Strathfarrar estate, reaching it requires either a perfectly timed arrival at the private road's seasonal gate or a very long walk to contemplate your scheduling errors.
