About Meall Odhar Mor
Sitting prominently above the historic Corrieyairack Pass, this rounded Monadhliath summit offers a heathery, largely pathless ascent. While often overlooked in favour of the nearby Munros, its isolated position provides a fantastic, uncluttered perspective over the Great Glen and toward the rugged peaks of the Knoydart wilderness to the west.

Did You Know?
- •The name is derived from the Scottish Gaelic 'Meall Odhar Mòr', which translates as the 'Great Dun Hill', a reference to the muted browns and greys of the moorland grasses that clothe its slopes.
- •The hill overlooks the summit of the Corrieyairack Pass, the highest point of General Wade’s 18th-century military road built to link Dalwhinnie with Fort Augustus.
- •From the summit, walkers are treated to a specific and impressive view of the massive post-glacial corries of the Creag Meagaidh massif situated to the south.
- •To the north, the view extends along the Great Glen, where the southern end of Loch Ness is clearly visible cutting through the Highland fault line.
- •For those traversing the pass below, this hill serves as a short but steep detour that effectively trades the company of cross-country cyclists for total solitude.
