About Knockandy Hill
Rising as the highest point on Skye’s Waternish peninsula, this modest Hump offers a wilder alternative to the island's busier peaks. The terrain is largely pathless moorland, but the effort is rewarded with a superb, panoramic vantage point overlooking the Minch towards the distant profiles of the Outer Hebrides.

Did You Know?
- •The name is derived from the Gaelic Cnoc Anndaidh, which translates simply to 'Andrew’s Hill'.
- •Standing as the high point of the peninsula, the summit provides an exceptional perspective on the Ascrib Islands, which appear scattered across the mouth of Loch Snizort directly below.
- •To the east, the summit offers an uninterrupted view of the entire Trotternish Ridge, allowing walkers to trace the jagged skyline from the Old Man of Storr right through to the Quiraing.
- •While it lacks the dramatic basalt towers of the more famous Skye ranges, it compensates with enough hidden bog to ensure your boots are thoroughly tested before you reach the summit cairn.
