About Hunt Hill
Rising above the head of Glen Mark, this expansive Graham offers a classic Mounth plateau experience. Often paired with neighbouring Mount Keen, it provides a quieter alternative to the Munro crowds. The heather-clad summit is a fine vantage point for looking across the deep trough of Loch Lee towards the Angus glens.

Did You Know?
- •The name is a literal reference to the hill's historical use as a deer stalking ground for the local estates in Glen Esk and Deeside.
- •Most walkers pass the Queen’s Well on the approach through Glen Mark, a granite monument in the shape of a crown built to commemorate a visit by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1861.
- •The summit cairn offers an excellent perspective of the steep, craggy face of Craig Maskeldie and the high, rounded dome of Mount Keen to the north.
- •Positioned on the edge of the Mounth, this hill sits on an ancient route once used by Highland drovers and travellers moving between the Lowlands and the River Dee.
- •The summit plateau is famous for its peat hags; it is the sort of place where you can stay dry for miles only to lose a boot to a single, over-confident stride into a patch of dark moss.
