Did You Know?
- •The name is Gaelic for 'Crag of the Stags,' a nod to the red deer often found sheltering in the steep-sided corries below the summit ridge.
- •While often tackled as part of a mammoth seven-Munro traverse, the hill stands as a fine objective on its own, accessed via a steep but efficient path from the A87 in Glen Shiel.
- •The summit provides a grandstand view of the Forcan Ridge on the neighbouring peak, The Saddle, one of the most celebrated scrambling routes in the Highlands.
- •To the west, the sea-loch of Loch Duich is clearly visible, often reflecting the dramatic peaks of Kintail in its sheltered waters.
- •Despite being the lowest Munro on the South Glen Shiel Ridge, it has a knack for feeling like the tallest if you have already climbed the other six peaks to reach it.
