Did You Know?
- •Derived from the Gaelic Creag Bhàn, the name translates as ‘white crag’, a reference to the pale rock outcrops that stand out against the darker heather on its upper slopes.
- •The summit provides a grandstand view of the 'Road to the Isles' as it winds toward Mallaig, with the distinctive silhouettes of Eigg and Rùm visible across the water.
- •Because there is no established path to the top, walkers must navigate a quintessential West Highland mix of deep bog, hidden crags, and thick bracken.
- •While often overshadowed by the higher peaks of the Roshven massif to the south, its isolation as a Marilyn makes it a mandatory detour for dedicated hill-baggers.
