About Cnoc na Creige
Rising above the Applecross peninsula in the North West Highlands, this rugged 593-metre peak offers a classic taste of gneiss terrain. Though falling just short of Graham status, its rocky character and position provide a commanding perspective over the Inner Sound toward the Isle of Raasay and the Cuillin of Skye.

Did You Know?
- •The name is Gaelic for 'Hill of the Rock' or 'Hill of the Crag', an apt description for a summit defined by the ancient, weathered Lewisian Gneiss that characterizes the Applecross landscape.
- •Positioned south of the famous Bealach na Bà, the hill serves as a quieter alternative to the busy viewpoints of the Applecross pass, looking directly across the Crowlin Islands.
- •The summit offers an excellent vantage point to study the complex coastline of the Inner Sound, with the sharp profiles of the Skye Cuillin visible to the southwest on a clear day.
- •By standing a mere seven metres short of the 600-metre threshold required for Graham status, the hill successfully avoids the attention of most ticking-list walkers.
