About Ben Killilan
Rising steeply above the remote hamlet at the head of Loch Long, this rugged Highland peak offers a quieter alternative to the nearby Kintail giants. The ascent through the Killilan estate reveals expansive views across the western sea lochs towards the jagged outlines of the Isle of Skye.

Did You Know?
- •The name derives from the Scottish Gaelic Beinn Chill Fhaolain, meaning the hill of St Fillan’s church, named for the early Christian missionary associated with the hamlet and burial ground at the hill's base.
- •From the summit cairn, the view south is dominated by the formidable ridge of the Five Sisters of Kintail, while to the northwest, the Applecross hills are visible across the inner reaches of the North West Highlands.
- •The hill serves as a sentinel for Glen Elchaig, the deep glaciated valley that provides the primary walking access to the spectacular Falls of Glomach.
- •Given its proximity to the more famous Kintail peaks, you are far more likely to share the summit with a golden eagle or a red deer than another human being.
