Meall na h-Uigeig

Rising to 515 metres north of Loch Ness in the Highlands, this unassuming summit offers a quiet vantage point over the Great Glen. The terrain is typical of lower Highland hills – heather, grass, and scattered woodland lower down. A Dodd classification reflects its modest prominence, making it a walk rather than a scramble.

• •The name derives from Gaelic 'Meall na h-Uidheig', meaning 'hill of the throat' or 'hill of the gullet', likely referring to a narrow gully or hollow on the hillside that early Gaelic speakers thought resembled a throat.
