Elibank Law

Rising to 522 metres in the Manor Hills south of Peebles, this grassy summit forms part of the ridge separating Manor Water from Leithen Water. The hill offers straightforward walking over typical Border terrain, with wide views across the Southern Uplands. Often climbed alongside neighbouring heights in this quiet, rolling landscape.

• •The name 'Elibank' derives from the Scots 'ellie bank', meaning the slope where alder trees grow, though few alders remain on these open hills today. The 'Law' element is common throughout the Borders, from Old English 'hlaw' meaning a rounded hill or mound.
