Creag Dhubh Flichity

Rising above Strathnairn south of Loch Ness, this forested Dodd offers a modest but rewarding climb through Forestry Commission plantings. The summit, tucked among conifers at 518 metres, provides glimpses towards the Great Glen when views can be snatched between the trees. A quiet hill, largely overlooked by those heading for higher ground.

• •The name derives from Gaelic 'creag dhubh', meaning 'black crag', with 'Flichity' coming from the nearby estate and settlement of Flichity, itself possibly from 'fliuch' meaning wet or damp.
