Did You Know?
- •The name is a literal topographical description, marking the 'head' or high point of a spur situated between the valleys of the Culter Water and the Glenwhappen Burn.
- •It is most commonly visited as part of a high-level ridge walk starting from the Culter Water reservoir, often paired with the more prominent Culter Fell and Gairmuir.
- •Looking south, the summit provides an expansive view of the rolling, wind-farm-dotted landscape towards the Moffat Hills and the heart of the Southern Uplands.
- •In typical Southern Upland fashion, the lack of a defined summit cairn means your arrival is often signalled more by the wind picking up than by any grand monument.
