Did You Know?
- •The name translates from Scottish Gaelic as the ‘Cairn of the Grey Loch’. It refers to Loch Liath, a high-altitude lochan sitting at over 500 metres in the corrie northwest of this summit.
- •Situated on the south-eastern fringes of the Monadhliath, this top offers a distinct perspective of the Creag Meagaidh massif, specifically looking towards the mouth of the spectacular Coire Ardair.
- •The view south is dominated by the silver expanse of Loch Laggan, while on exceptionally clear days, the sharp profiles of the Grey Corries and the Easains are visible on the western horizon.
- •Approaching from the south requires crossing the Allt a' Choire Chaluim; this burn can become a difficult obstacle following heavy rain as it drains the vast, boggy plateau above.
