Did You Know?
- •The name Beinn Bhreac translates from Scottish Gaelic as 'Speckled Hill'. This common descriptive name refers to the summit’s mottled appearance, created by a patchwork of grey rock, dark heather, and light grasses rather than a uniform covering of vegetation.
- •Positioned near the head of Loch Fyne, the summit provides an excellent vantage point to view the steep-sided trench of Glen Fyne and the southern face of Beinn Bhuidhe, which dominates the skyline to the northeast.
- •The ascent from the glen floor involves navigating steep, largely pathless slopes, making it a rugged excursion for those looking to avoid the busier trails of the neighbouring Arrochar peaks.
- •At 629 metres, it falls comfortably into the category of hills that look considerably more intimidating from the bottom of the glen than they do on a topographical map.
