About Knockmulanane
Sitting on the eastern shoulders of the Dingle Peninsula, this grassy Tump offers a quieter alternative to the more jagged peaks further west. Rising above the valley north of Minard, the summit provides clear, uncrowded views across Dingle Bay towards the Iveragh Peninsula and the distant, dark mass of the Reeks.

Did You Know?
- •Derived from the Irish Cnoc Maolánáin, the name translates as the 'hill of the little flat-topped one,' a fitting description of its rounded, heathery summit profile.
- •The summit offers a commanding view over the village of Minard to the south, with the expansive waters of Dingle Bay stretching toward the Iveragh Peninsula and the jagged silhouette of the Skellig Islands visible on exceptionally clear days.
- •It is typically accessed from the south via the slopes near Lispole or as part of a longer ridge walk that links the coastal lowlands to the higher Slieve Mish peaks further east.
- •Falling less than seven metres short of the 600-metre mark, it successfully avoids the 'mountain' label used by some Irish hill-listing criteria and, consequently, the majority of the crowds heading for Mount Brandon.
