About Beinn na h-Uamha
Overlooking the quiet waters of Loch Aline, this rugged Morvern Marilyn offers a wild, pathless ascent through classic Highland heath and rock. Rising to 465 metres, its summit provides a commanding perspective south across the Sound of Mull and north toward the more substantial, jagged peaks of the Ardgour peninsula.

Did You Know?
- •The name translates from Scottish Gaelic as 'Hill of the Cave,' a reference to the many craggy recesses and geological fissures found tucked into the steep, rocky slopes of the Morvern peninsula.
- •From the summit, there is an excellent view south over the narrow mouth of Loch Aline and across the Sound of Mull towards the high peaks of the Mull Supergroup, including the prominent Munro, Ben More.
- •Despite its modest height, the hill is an arduous climb; the 'rough bounds' of Morvern are notorious for being some of the most energy-sapping terrain in the Highlands, requiring constant attention to footing.
- •The terrain is so consistently trackless that any sheep path you stumble upon will briefly feel like a major road, usually right up until the point it leads you directly into a peat hag.
