Herdwick Sheep

Herdwicks are ancient Lake District hill sheep whose hefting is learned from ewe to lamb. Norse introduction remains folklore, while genetic evidence points to an older Northern Pin Tail lineage. Beatrix Potter became an influential breeder and land donor.
