Aonach Sgoilte

Rising steeply above the fjord-like waters of Loch Hourn, this rugged, split-crested ridge forms a significant shoulder of the Beinn Sritheall massif. Its terrain is characterized by shattered rock and demanding gradients. Reaching the summit rewards walkers with a staggering perspective across the Sound of Sleat toward the jagged Black Cuillin on Skye.

• •The name is derived from the Gaelic 'Aonach Sgoilte', translating as 'Split Ridge', which refers to the deeply notched and shattered nature of the crest as it drops towards the Bealach na h-Eangair.
