Meall Beag

A modest summit standing above Glen Dochart in the southern Highlands, rising to 518 metres near the settlement of Auchlyne. The hill offers straightforward walking over grassy slopes, with views extending across the glen to the Breadalbane peaks. Its Dodd and Tump classifications reflect its prominence in relatively gentle terrain.

• •The name derives from Scottish Gaelic 'Meall Beag', meaning simply 'small hill' or 'little lump' – a straightforward description that distinguishes it from larger neighbouring summits in the area.
• •The hill overlooks the historic route through Glen Dochart, a major east-west passage through the Highlands that has carried drovers, soldiers, and travellers for centuries between Crianlarich and Killin.
