- •The name stems from Manx Gaelic, translating to 'Hill of the Day Watch.' Historically, it served as a crucial lookout point for spotting invaders or approaching fishing fleets during daylight hours, while a nearby hill served the same purpose at night.
- •The summit is a significant landmark on the Raad ny Foillan, the Island’s 102-mile long-distance coastal path, marking the transition from the rugged cliffs of the west to the gentler southern coastline.
