Seskin [An Seisceann]

Sitting on the border between Wicklow and Carlow, this prominent Marilyn rises above Coolkenna Street. While its 344m summit is modest, it offers a clear vantage point over the Derreen River valley. On clear days, the jagged profile of Lugnaquilla dominates the northern horizon, while Mount Leinster stands tall to the south.

• •The name Seskin is an anglicisation of the Irish An Seisceann, which translates as 'the marsh' or 'the fen,' likely referring to the poorly drained land found on the hill’s lower slopes.
