There are currently 282 Munros and 226 Munro Tops. In recent times, the SMC has changed the official lists only when nationally recognised topographic data adopted by Ordnance Survey supports a change.

What's the difference between a Munro and a Corbett?

A Munro is a Scottish mountain of at least 3,000 feet with sufficient separation from neighbouring peaks. A Corbett is at least 2,500 feet but under 3,000 feet, with a drop of at least 500 feet (152.4 metres) between its summit and any higher land.

Why is the Inaccessible Pinnacle so difficult?

The Inaccessible Pinnacle, or In-Pin, is a narrow blade of rock above Sgùrr Dearg. It is the only Munro whose summit requires rock-climbing skills and equipment, and Sir Hugh Munro's own marked Tables show that he never climbed it.
