This 84-mile coast-to-coast route follows the Roman frontier from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway, with the wall itself appearing and disappearing along the way. We look at how much actual Roman archaeology you'll encounter, why it's busier than you'd expect, and whether walking it east-to-west makes any real difference.
