- •The name is derived from the Gaelic 'Aonach Mòr', meaning 'big ridge'. In this context, 'Mòr' refers to the broad, sprawling physical footprint of the hill rather than its height relative to the 1,000-metre giants that surround it.
- •This is one of the more isolated spots in the Central Highlands. Most walkers only encounter it during the long, often multi-day expeditions required to reach the remote Munros of Beinn Eibhinn and A’ Chailleach.
