Outlying Fells

The Outlying Fells are the 116 hills listed in Alfred Wainwright's The Outlying Fells of Lakeland (1974). Wainwright described them as suitable for "old age pensioners and others who can no longer climb high", offering gentler walks around the edges of the National Park, away from the busiest fells. Unlike the main Wainwrights, which are higher and more rugged, the Outlying Fells are lower, easier, and more accessible for quieter, less strenuous walks.
